Women in professional/managerial households were twice as likely to drink more than 3 units on any one day compared to women from manual households. They were also twice as likely to have drunk heavily on at least one occasion in the previous week. A similar, but smaller, distinction was apparent when comparing men from professional and manual households (Bromley and Shelton, 2010). However, the public view of cannabis took some serious damage before this.
